Dylan is from the Emerald Isle of Ireland and began his recruitment career in May 2012. He joined a small IT recruiter in the City before joining a more prominent firm and quickly progressing to Senior Consultant. While working with Robert Half, Dylan further built on his reputation and network in the market, winning recognition and a series of awards, culminating in the UK's top performance award for contract/permanent recruitment.
Dylan's expertise is delivering niche talent into the Medical Device Technology Field, working with various companies, and supplying suitable candidates in the areas listed below. - Brief: The largest pure-play diabetes care company in the world, leveraging its nearly 100-year legacy in insulin delivery to empower people with diabetes firm, required a Senior Manager of Systems Engineering with diabetes and drug delivery experience to build a Systems Engineering team and Lead and manage System Engineering R&D teams
- Successful profile: Bringing over 10 years of experience in the engineering/technical field, at least 5 of which focused on complex system-level work, with a significant focus on medical devices
Head of Embedded Software | Medical Device Technology
- Brief: Head of Embedded Software is a technical leadership position leading the embedded software/firmware development and electrical design/architecture for medical device product advancements. The individual would be responsible for working cross-functionally to understand end-user needs and system requirements, mapping them to detailed embedded software and electrical design specifications, and translating these into robust architecture and design elements.
Embedded electronics and software architecture definition, board design and updates & design for critical features and functions, leading & enabling the implementation of features as part of a multi-disciplinary R&D team (systems, electrical, mechanical and application software). Integrating and verifying implemented features through unit and functional testing. - Successful profile: An experienced Head of Embedded Software professional who had grown frustrated with the lack of progression at a competitor company was identified and successfully hired.
Chief Solutions Architect, Cloud Native Architecture & Integration (Oncology Solutions) | Medical Device Technology
- Brief: Chief Solution Architecture stream for Cloud adoption and transformation of on-prem applications to a cloud-native stack. This involves Infra, platform and application transformations, & Integration with legacy systems. A cross-cloud platform is being built to facilitate onboarding and various oncology solutions with Elekta. This involves containerisation of multiple products and journey to microservices, Kubernetes, adopting cloud stack (messaging, observability, storage, databases,) establishing DevOps strategy, Implementing secure software supply chain and DevSecOps (container static & dynamic testing, binary verifications, secret management etc.,) and deployment into azure/on-prem. I was responsible for redesigning solutions so that they could work on both Azure AKS and on-prem distributions by building storage and networking abstractions, Cross cloud IAC (terraform & ansible), build and deployment pipelines (Canary and blue-green), container signing, policy, and patch management.
- Successful profile: The appointed Chief Solution Architect became an integral part of the company’s newly established Enterprise Architecture team, reporting to the SVP of Enterprise Architecture. As a senior architectural leader, they were tasked with guiding and governing the structural and directional design of the company’s product software, ensuring alignment with business goals across the entire product portfolio. Their role included defining and overseeing component functionality, API and service architecture, data entity structures, and other critical architectural standards. Working closely with key stakeholders such as product management, system architects, and subject-matter experts within the engineering organization, they played a crucial role in shaping a unified and resilient enterprise architecture aligned with strategic objectives.
